What are cookies?
Small text snippets stored in your browser. We use them alongside local storage (for PGN drafts, AI settings) so the platform remembers your progress.
Types we use

| cg_session | Secure login session so pages recognize you. | Expires when you log out or after 14 days. |
| cg_preferences | Stores board themes, move sound preference, selected play mode. | 6 months. |

How to control cookies
Use the in-app banner to toggle analytics cookies anytime. You can also clear ChessGyan data from your browser storage or browse in private mode.
